Exposure is the amount of light in a picture. Exposure is influenced by three factors: aperture, ISO and shutter speed. APERTURE is the dimension of the hole where light goes; ISO is the sensor of the camera and you can change how much the sensor is sensitive to light; SHUTTER SPEED is the time when the shutter curtain stays open allowing the light to reach the sensor. The light in a picture can increase or decrease depending on how we adjust our three factors.

Long Exposure Portrait

This picture is a portrait that we released in class with a shutter speed of 10 seconds and a high aperture, because of the darkness in the room.

Light Painting (Long Exposure)

This picture has a particular light effect. For this picture we used a shutter speed of 30 seconds and with the flashlight of our phones we drew something around one or more people. In the end, the light looks like a real painting

Panning (Long Exposure)

For this photo, we went to a street near the school with our cameras and we had to take pictures of cars that were crossing the street. The peculiarity of this shot is that the car is in focus, while the background shows the movement of the car. To get the effect we had to follow the car with our cameras.

Water Balloon (Short Exposure)

This picture was taken outside, so beforehand we had to adjust the aperture and the ISO according to the sunlight. The shutter speed was very short, in order to have a clean picture of a very fast action.

Berries + Milk (Short Exposure)

As in the previous photo, this was taken outside too and with a fast shutter speed. The result is a clean picture with a short exposure.
